The 2022 Toyota AFL grand final 2022 will kick off at 2:30 pm AEST on Saturday 24 September 2022. Australian Football League Grand Finals are the biggest sporting event of the year. 35 million people are expected to watch the AFL Grand Final worldwide. We’re crossing our fingers that lockdowns will be a thing of the past.  On September 23, the AFL Grand Final Friday, it’s Aussie Madness as a nation of footy fans get ready to celebrate its most popular sporting event! On the last Friday of the month, a spectacular parade in Melbourne kicks off the Australian Football League Final the next day. During a public holiday in Victoria, the parade attracts a large crowd. It is common to see players, mascots, marching bands, and other entertainers lined up along the streets. Australia is doing it big!





WHEN IS THE AFL GRAND FINAL?

There will be a bye in the pre-finals series, which will return for 2022, before the start of the AFL finals series on Thursday, September 1. As a result, the 2022 AFL Grand Final will take place on Saturday, September 24, at the MCG. This will be the first time the Grand Final has been held at the MCG since 2019.

HOW THE AFL FINALS SYSTEM WORKS

The two teams that win the two qualifying finals will host the two preliminary finals, while two teams will be eliminated each week until the Grand Final. After the First Qualifying Final (Geelong v Collingwood), the winner of the First Elimination Final (Fremantle v Western Bulldogs) will host the loser of the First Semi-Final (Geelong v Collingwood). In the second semi-final, the loser of the second qualifying final (Melbourne v Sydney) is scheduled to play the winner of the second elimination final (Brisbane v Richmond).

 First Qualifying Final winners (Geelong v Collingwood) are to face the winners of the Second Semi-Finals (Melbourne / Sydney v Brisbane / Richmond) in the First Preliminary Final.

In the Secon Preliminary Final, the winner of the Second Qualifying Final (Melbourne v Sydney) will host the winner of the First Semi-Final (Geelong Cats / Collingwood v Fremantle / Western Bulldogs). AFL Grand Final 2022 will feature the winners of the two preliminary finals.

Who will win the 2021 Grand Final AFL?

The 2021 Grand Final will be played on the 28th of October and several favorites could take home the title.

West Coast Eagles are another team that has a strong chance at taking home glory this year with their recent success in the interstate finals. AFL Grand Final Parade

The 23rd of September 2022 at noon. A public holiday has been declared for the Friday before Grand Final Day. We invite you to attend this year’s Grand Final to watch the two teams compete. It is located outside the Old Treasury Building on Spring Street. It travels south along Spring Street, turns left into Wellington Parade, turns right into Wellington Parade south, and enters Gate 3, Yarra Park. Afterward, the route will continue through Yarra Park to the Toyota AFL Grand Final Live Site.

AFL 2022 FINALS FIXTURE – WEEK 1 

The second elimination final will be played between the Brisbane Lions and the Richmond Tigers.

On Thursday, September 1, at 7:20 p.m. at the Gabba

There will be a second qualifying final between (2) Melbourne and (3) Sydney Swans.

The MCG will be open on Friday, September 2, at 7:50 p.m.

The first qualifying final will be between (1) Geelong Cats and (4) Collingwood.

The MCG will be open at 4:35 pm on Saturday, September 3

The first elimination final will be played between (5) Fremantle and (8) Western Bulldogs.

On Saturday, September 3, at 8:10 p.m. at Optus Stadium.

AFL 2022 FINALS FIXTURE – WEEK 2

The game is September 9-10 – Details will be announced after Week 1

The second semifinal will be between (Melbourne vs Sydney Swan loser) and (Brisbane Lions vs Richmond winner).

MCG/SCG, day/time to be decided (probably Friday, September 9)

In the first semi-final, it’s (Geelong Cats v Collingwood loser) v (Fremantle v Western Bulldogs winner).

MCG, date, and time TBC (probably Saturday, September 10)

AFL 2022 FINALS FIXTURE – WEEK 3 

Taking place September 16-17 – Details to come after Week 1 of finals.

First Preliminary Final: In the semi-finals, the winner of (Geelong Cats v Collingwood) will play (Melbourne/Sydney Swans v Brisbane Lions/Richmond)

The day and time of the MCG are TBC (likely Friday, September 16).

Second Preliminary Final: (Melbourne v Sydney Swans winner) v (Geelong Cats/Collingwood v Fremantle/Western Bulldogs semi-finalists)

MCG/SCG, date/time to be determined (likely Saturday, September 17)

The finals until the Grand Final will be broadcast live and without commercial interruption on Fox Footy, and will also be streamed live on Kayo Sports.

How much are AFL Grand Final tickets?

Tickets for week one of the 2022 Toyota AFL Finals Series will go on sale on Tuesday, August 23, with games taking place in Brisbane, Melbourne, and Perth. Members of the AFL and clubs have priority access to tickets before the remainder are made available to the general public. Following the announcement of a price freeze at 2019 rates, tickets for week one are available for $35.
